Hamilton The Cat

Alexander Hamilton by John Trumbull 1792
Alexander Hamilton, born in the West Indies, made his name during the American Revolution as one of General George Washington's closest and most important aids and a war hero at Yorktown.

Alexander Hamilton by John Trumbull, after 1804
After the war he enhanced his legacy as one of the primary authors of the propaganda in favor of the Constitution know as the "Federalist Papers".  Once the Constitution was ratified, he worked as the first Secretary of the Treasury under President Washington. He had another reputation before being killed by Aaron Burr on the dueling ground at Weehawken.  He was know as such a flirt with the ladies that Martha Washington named her giant, horny tomcat, Hamilton.

I don't know weather or not she named the other pets, like the greyhound, or if George had a similar sense of humor but check this out.

    1. Did you just look this up because of that line in "A Winter's Ball" when Burr says Martha Washington named her feral tomcat after him?

  5. It's not true though. http://thefederalist.com/2015/10/08/the-adams-familys-revenge-against-alexander-hamilton/

It was a slur first said by the British fighting against the rebel colonists and then perpetuated by the Adams family who hated Hamilton.
